Out of every 100 diamonds mined, 80% are of industrial quality, not
eligible for jewelry. Of the remaining 20% considered gem quality, one
million are mined before a 1ct is obtained. For a 2ct diamond, 5 million

The better the cut, the more expertly skilled the cutter must be, and the more beautiful the diamond will be.
